LoRaWAN Full Service Provider

LoRaWAN is a so-called low-power wireless technology, i.e. in contrast to a conventional WLAN network, LoRaWAN sensors consume very little energy to transmit data. This means that the battery life of the sensors can be up to 10 years.

As LoRaWAN belongs to the LPWAN networks (LoW Power Wide Area Network), the range for radio transmission in rural areas and open spaces can be up to 15 km. In cities, it is lower due to the usually dense development, but can still reach 2 km.

LoRaWAN transmits in the sub-gigahertz range, which means that the radio signal from a LoRa sensor can even successfully overcome several concrete walls. This makes the technology suitable for mixed use both indoors and outdoors. For example, signals from sensors distributed on the factory premises can also be received by the LoRaWAN gateway inside a company building. LoRa sensors can also transmit from other underground areas.

Once a company's own LoRaWAN network has been set up, the network can become very simple if required. No costly and time-consuming radio plan is required to add further gateways, as they simply fit into the existing radio structure.

The requirements for secure data transmission are always decisive when choosing a technology - especially in an industrial environment, as the requirements there are significantly higher than in other areas. With LoRaWAN technology, the data is encrypted with the AES128 standard on its way from the sensor to the software application on the Internet. Thanks to this end-to-end encryption, LoRa is also a good option for wireless data transmission in industry.
