m2m Germany expands cooperation network and relies on bundled know-how in "Indoor Locating" with Favendo GmbH. We welcome Favendo GmbH as a new member of our network. Favendo specializes in the development of software for real-time location-based services such as asset tracking or indoor navigation. As well as the planning and rollout of associated hardware infrastructures - primarily based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
We at m2m Germany see ourselves as experts for wireless technologies. With our knowledge and many years of expertise, we are the right contact for numerous industries with a wide range of applications when it comes to wireless connections. We support our customers in setting up digital infrastructures with wireless technologies such as LTE, LoRa, Bluetooth or NB-IoT. This is how we network machines and plants with each other.
A co-selling cooperation with Favendo is an obvious step for us, because the core areas of us and Favendo correspond excellently with each other. Together we can implement potential projects. Especially if a hybrid approach (indoor/outdoor, merging multiple technologies into one application, etc.) is desired by the customer.
The intersection in expertise for various radio technologies on our side and the expert knowledge in software development for location-based services, in particular the localization of objects and people (asset tracking) or, for example, navigation in buildings on the other side, complement each other perfectly. On this basis, we have jointly decided to enter into a partnership. Our declared goal is to offer our customers the greatest possible flexibility - both in the selection of technologies and in the coverage of the various use cases.
"We at m2m Germany can then primarily contribute to the selection and setup of the infrastructure (gateways, site selection, LNS, as well as suitable hardware or also individually developed or customized hardware, etc.), while Favendo contributes the application and, if necessary, beacons and locators. In particular, we see potential when it comes to RTLS (RealTimeLocatingServic) solutions to be integrated into a LoRaWAN infrastructure."
Hybrid approaches are smart!
In particular, hybrid approaches that require a mix of technologies or an indoor-outdoor solution will benefit from this partnership. Because in order to implement seamless indoor/outdoor tracking, m2m Germany has been supporting LoRaWAN technologies since 2019 and is already considered a LoRa full-service provider in the industry. m2m Germany's LoRa portfolio is broad and includes solutions from Abeeway/Actility, among others, which also appeal to Favendo.
"For hybrid installations with outdoor tracking, Favendo also supports LoRaWAN technologies, as M2M Germany uses with its customers. So why not use the existing infrastructure for tracking as well? Since Favendo is hardware agnostic, M2M customers who want to extend their functionality with tracking services can now build on top of their existing system. Whether in the cloud or on-prem, M2M and Favendo are here to serve as partners for strategic planning, installation, integration, commissioning, training and maintenance!"
This results in the advantage that existing structures can be reused in many cases and supplemented with additional functionality, such as an RTLS.
