WiFi-SiP "en miniature".
The System-in-Package (SiP) modules WFM200 is, according to Silicon Labs, the world's smallest pre-certified SiP with an integrated antenna, and that with a "size" of only 6.5×6.5mm. It supports 2.4Ghz 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and is especially optimized in terms of energy efficiency to ensure reliable connectivity even with an increasing number of devices in a network. Important when it comes to connected devices in private and commercial networks.
Perfect for battery operated devices
The current consumption of the module is just at TX:145mA and at RX 42.3mA. In terms of current consumption for the Delivery Traffic Indication Message (DTIM), this is only 298µA for a 3 beacon period.
This is the best way to meet the challenges of current-critical, battery-powered WiFi products. The design can be simplified by FCC, CE and IC pre-certification and the minimal size contributes to miniaturization. The result is an accelerated market introduction of new products.
An absolute plus for battery-powered devices such as IP security cameras, point-of-sale (PoS) terminals and consumer devices and other WiFi-capable IoT applications
The WFM200 also offers extensive development tools and a starter kit. The module supports both Linux-based hosts and RTOS-based hosts to provide a complete WLAN solution. High-speed SPI and SDIO host interfaces provide flexibility and throughput.
The WFM200 is now in the shop from m2m Germany available.
