Owasys units certified for the USA
In Europe, the owa4X and owa5X telematics units from Owasys are already in use thousands of times. Among others, in special vehicles of waste management companies or at large mining companies. The telematics boxes from Owasys have been an integral part of the telematics industry since 2007. The devices have also been in use in the USA for a long time, but what is new is that they now also have Verizon Provider certification and can thus cover an even broader spectrum.
These certifications, along with FCC and PTCRB certifications, make the owa4X and owa5X devices a globally deployable solution.
The right telematics units
Owasys' telematics IoT gateways are ideal for use in tree rails, freight and material handling, agriculture and forestry, as well as fleet management, predictive maintenance and any digital transformation and Industrie4.0 projects that require edge computing capabilities.
The owa units are a freely programmable hardware based on Linux, which are not bound to the service of a certain provider. The gateways are individually configurable from unit number one. In addition, they are adapted to the highest industrial quality standards and are guaranteed to be available for the long term. Owasys is constantly expanding the functionality of the units and always keeps the technology of the gateway series state-of-the-art.
Here is a brief overview of the two unit variants owa5X and owa4X:
