SMART CITY EXPO WORLD CONGRESS in Barcelona - we will be there

From November 3 to 5, 2026, the international smart city community will once again gather at the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) in Barcelona. As one of the world’s leading platforms for urban innovation, the event brings together more than 27,000 trade visitors, over 1,100 exhibitors, and approximately 600 international speakers.
m2m Germany will also be represented again at the joint Hessian booth in 2026. Under this year’s theme , “Urban Solutions, Real Impact,” the focus is on concrete and scalable solutions for the cities of today and tomorrow.
We demonstrate how IoT and wireless technologies can be applied in real-world smart city applications —from selecting suitable wireless technologies and sensors, through networking, to the appropriate IoT infrastructure.

From the Smart City Concept to Practical Application
Digitalization can help cities and municipalities use resources more efficiently, operate infrastructure in a way that meets demand, and automatically collect relevant data. The key is to select the right technology for each specific application.
LoRaWAN and NB-IoT play an important role in many smart city projects. However, depending on the application and infrastructure, other wireless technologies may also be the right choice.
As an IoT specialist, m2m Germany supports companies, system integrators, utilities, and cities and municipalities in selecting and implementing suitable IoT solutions—from consulting and technology selection to sensor technology and hardware, and on to integration and IoT infrastructure.
As a a full-service LoRaWAN provider , we also support LoRaWAN projects from the planning and selection of suitable components through to the deployment and operation of the necessary infrastructure.
Urban Solutions, Real Impact
In 2026, the Smart City Expo World Congress will focus on concrete solutions to the key challenges facing modern cities. Key areas of focus include Enabling Technologies, Energy & Environment, Mobility, Governance & Economy, and Infrastructure & Building.
The trade show thus provides an international platform for cities, municipalities, companies, technology providers, and research institutions to exchange ideas on existing solutions, best practices, and new approaches to digital and sustainable urban development.
