Exclusive product launch: new LoRaWAN sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs
m2m Germany exclusively announces the launch of the new WILSEN.node and WILSEN.valve product series from Pepperl+Fuchs. This underlines m2m Germany's leading role in the LPWAN market for industrial communication and its long-standing close partnership with the sensor specialist for factory and process automation.
The new radio-based LoRaWAN sensors WILSEN.node and WILSEN.valve are used for a wide range of application scenarios in the process industry and complement the WILSEN.sonic IoT ultrasonic sensors that have been on the market since 2018. These are specially designed for monitoring fill levels and distances and are primarily used in collection containers, recycling containers and silos, but also for measuring water levels as a precautionary flood protection measure.
Smart position detection and feedback of valve positions
The new WILSEN.valve was developed for smart position detection on valves. It combines signal reliability with ease of use and high flexibility: by connecting NAMUR and 2-wire low-power DC sensors, such as inductive single or double sensors, the sensor can also be used for valve position feedback and end position monitoring of manual valves and manual lever valves in process engineering systems or water management. In addition to the valve status, the WILSEN.valve also transmits diagnostic data and error states such as short circuits or line breaks.
The all-rounder for detecting objects
The new WILSEN.node detects the presence of any type of object and is therefore highly versatile. In addition, other NAMUR or 2-wire low-power DC sensors of various types, e.g. float switches or vibration limit switches, can also be connected for a wider range of applications such as monitoring the closing status of manhole covers, transformer houses, hall gates or pasture gates. Like the WILSEN.valve, this sensor also transmits diagnostic data or error states such as short circuits or cable breaks in addition to the actual parameters
""We are delighted to be the first to launch these new products onto the market. They are real proof of our commitment to delivering the latest product technology. Our customers and users can already look forward to further variants of the WILSEN.""
Robust housing and powerful core
At the heart of the sensors is the autonomous and wireless WILSEN central unit - an IP66/67 base module equipped with a high-performance lithium battery that transmits measurement data at individually adjustable transmission intervals over several kilometers via the LoRaWAN radio standard. GPS information, temperature values and the battery charge status are also provided. All sensors can also be easily retrofitted.
