Helium network enriches LNS portfolio

helium network

Even more choice for LoRaWAN network operators

Hundreds of companies and thousands of developers are already building The People's Network, the world's largest and fastest growing LoRaWAN network initiated by Helium, a company founded in 2013.
The Helium Network is a global, distributed network that uses hotspots to create public, wide-area wireless coverage for IoT devices.

With this world's first peer-to-peer wireless network, the company aims to create an easily accessible entry point for the masses to build "The People's Network" for comprehensive IoT coverage.
With every new cooperation partner, every company that joins "The Peoples Network" or whose products are Helium compatible, the network grows.

Products from Milesight and Actility adapted to the Helium Network

We are pleased that two of our partners: Milesight and Actility are also in close cooperation with Helium. This means that we at m2m Germany are also in a position to help drive the worldwide expansion of "The Peoples Network".

Milesight - one of our LoRa hardware partners has completed the compatibility of the Milesight Hotspots - UG65/ UG67 (in a Gateway Helium version) by working with Helium. Anyone using such a gateway can thus own and operate a wireless network with decentralisation function.

With Helium's open source blockchain technology, companies are encouraged to deploy Milesight hotspots that provide decentralised network coverage for hundreds of square kilometres, resulting in an open wireless IoT network capable of connecting tens of IoT sensors and devices anywhere in the world in a cost-effective manner.

  • The UG65 is a rugged 8-channel indoor LoRaWAN® hotspot compatible with the Helium network.

Thanks to the high-performance components used (quad-core CPU / SX1302 LoRa chip), the UG65 gateway provides an efficient and reliable connection with a maximum line-of-sight range of 15 km.

In urban environments, a range of up to 2 km can be covered, enabling connectivity for more than 2000 nodes/sensors

  • The UG67 gateway in the Helium version is a LoRaWAN® hotspot that is equipped for outdoor use.
The features of the UG67 are identical to those of the UG65.

Efficient and reliable connection, ranges from 2 km to 15 km depending on line of sight, only as mentioned, for outdoor use. For this, an optional solar power supply is available in addition to the normal PoE power supply.

LoRaWAN Roaming - Rethinking Connectivity

Our partner Actility - recognised leader in IoT connectivity solutions and LPWA technology, also cooperates with Helium Network.

Actility's ThingsPark Exchange remains the industry's de facto first standard LoRaWAN IoT peering hub. By integrating with ThingPark Exchange, Actility will be able to immediately extend the coverage of its Helium network to 25 already connected networks worldwide.

"The growth of the Helium network has been explosive. By creating a roaming integration with the Helium network, we are now able to provide any LoRaWAN network, public or private, with access to this coverage, enabling them to deploy applications in more markets faster and with lower costs and less effort," says Alper Yegin, VP of Advanced Technology Development at Actility.
The LoRaWAN trackers from Abeeway - a subsidiary of Actility are also Helium compatible.

For example, Bouygues Construction Group tracks over 20,000 pieces of equipment in real time with Actility's helium-compatible Abeeway sensors, which Volvo Group also uses to optimise its yard management at its French and US truck plants. In Saudi Arabia, Red Sea Development Company is using more than 39,000 Helium-compatible LoRaWAN trackers for construction workers and vehicles to improve worker safety through location-based information.

  • TheAbeeway Industrial Tracker is a highly versatile multimode tracker with a long battery life and embedded sensors.

The combination of GPS, low-power GPS, Wi-Fi sniffer, BLE and LoRaWAN TDoA geolocation technologies, make accurate outdoor and indoor geolocation possible.

The tracker is made for use in harsh environments and enables seamless asset tracking in any industrial environment.

  • At Micro Tracker Smart Badge is an ATEX certified multi-mode tracker with embedded sensors and GPS, low-power GPS , Wi-Fi sniffer, BLE and LoRaWAN TDoA geolocation technologies for precise outdoor and indoor geolocation.

Small size and long battery life make it the ideal product for numerous tracking applications. Ideal for tracking, zone notification and monitoring - for more safety and security. With SOS and buzzer function.

If you are already planning a concrete project or are simply interested in the new possibilities offered by the Helium Network,
then we are gladly there for you and advise you.
You and your company can become part of The Peoples Network.
